C-cube and Daum to Provide IPTV Trial Service in Korea

The C-cube consortium and the Daum consortium have been chosen by the Korean government to provide an IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) trial service advanced by the Ministry of Information and Communication and the Korean Broadcasting Commission. Both consortia are expected to run the trial service for two months in November and December 2006 subsequent to necessary trial arrangements and equipment installations. The C-cube consortium's members include KT, Hanaro Telecom, LG Dacom, SK Telecom, Onse Telecom, Samsung Electronics, Humax, Pandora TV, KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS, and Yonhap News, while the Daum consortium includes KBS, Yonhap News, Hansol Education, Diboss, and CDNetworks.
